Advice

I would just like to say that when making jelly, it is wise to be VERY careful while transferring the boiling hot liquid into jars. In fact, I highly recommend a food grade funnel. Hopefully it will save all of you from foolish burns like the one on my left hand. It has been a week and a half since the incident and after applying Silvadene cream twice daily, the first layer of charred skin has happily come off. I am well on my way to a full recovery. :)

oh man. no fun at all. i once had a minor glue gun burn at an enrichment activity at home. probably the best place to have something like that happen because there were a few nurses to give sound advice and lots of moms and grandmas to pamper me with sympathy and refreshments. hope you heal soon!

Cool blog, Em. You are awesome. I loved reading your testimony and seeing your marathon pics--you look great. That's so cool that you took 5th in your category on your 1st marathon and you weren't even sore the next day. Did you ever know that you're my hero? Hee, hee.

I just noticed I'm logged in as Ben, but you know this is from Kels.

oooh......ouch! The other day I missed the last step on the stairs and saved myself by flinging my hand out.....onto the woodstove... but canning burn definitely trumps that.
